About Corah Apiaries

Location

Corah Apiaries is located in the heart of Alberta just 20 minutes east of Leduc and 35 minutes south of Edmonton. We are a small growing apiary with two production apiaries just outside of Leduc producing unpasteurized honey, beeswax, Nucs and more.  

History

We did not start beekeeping the traditional way.  My husband was scared of bees but appreciated them.  An opportunities through family allowed him to purchase a locally made beehive and a colony of bees to face his fear but it didn't take long before it turned into a new passion.  Shortly after he got his first beehive started, a local church approached him as they had a bee issue that was holding up contruction renovations and no one would remove the bees as they were in a very difficult location very high up in the Church.  We worked with 2 amazing guys from the Church to successfully remove the bees safely and transport them to farm becoming our second beehive.  We ended up growing to 6 hives that summer and overwintered 3.  That is how we got started and now our daughter has started helping us out with the bees.

 

Moving Forward

Beekeeping was new to us as a family and we enjoy networking with other beekeepers, learning and reading anything bee related that we could find. We combine our passion for learning and continually becoming better beekeepers. Our goal is to make beekeeping knowledge available freely for beginners and experienced beekeepers alike. By purchasing products from us, you are enabling us to continue raise strong health bees!

It has been through this experience, that our passion for raising bees, honey and natural products has evolved. We have expanded our brand to include items like beeswax, candles, and more.

Most of our products are sold directly from the farm. We have many customers who return year after year for their annual supply of honey. Word of mouth has been our primary method of reaching customers, a testimony of the quality of our products.

Producing quality natural products is a priority and we do our best to ensure the product you receive is the same consistent quality we have come to love.

Over the years, our honey has been used for general home use like baking or putting in coffee/tea and gifts at weddings.
